Prayer Requests

Bridgend Deanery 'Pastoral Companions'

Lord, thank you for calling the 'Pastoral Companions' together. Renew your spirit within them and lead them in ways which will support carers and the cared for.

Bless those they do support that they may find renewed strength as they care for their loved ones. Grant consolation to the bereaved and comfort to the dying. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Frances Molloy

"Lillian S"

Please pray that Lillian is where she needs to be, and if not, pray that she gets to where she needs to be. Pray that our family can support each other and not be torn apart during this emotional time.
Pastoral Care Project

Lord, bless the work of the Pastoral Care Project; wisdom, discernment and unconditional love as they raise awareness of the dignity of the most vulnerable people in our families.

Bless them with the finances to help them, with helpers who are truly humble and the will to serve you.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be world without end. Amen.

Sister Mary Clare

"We thank God for you and that you are still with us - such a blessing."

Val Burrell (my mum) by Doreen Harvey

I'm a carer, my mum has dementia. How can you" let go "someone you hold so dear so precious, into the care of total strangers? I went to a quiet day for carer's organised by the Pastoral Care Project, one of the handout leaflet's was called "To let go takes love". I would like to share with you some of the words that jumped out at me.

To "let go", does not mean to stop caring. It means, I can't do it for someone else.
To" let go" is to admit powerlessness, which means the outcome is not in my hands.
To "let go" is not to care for, but to care about.
To "let go" is not to fix, but to be supportive.
To "let go" is not to judge, but allow another to be a human being.
To "let go" is not to be in the middle arranging all the outcomes, but to allow others to affect their own destiny.

TO "LET GO" IS TO FEAR LESS AND TO LOVE MORE.
