Dementia Prayer Week 12-19th March 2020
Thank you to the many schools who have taken part in previous years and we hope 2020 more schools will participate.
The new videos can enrich the life of each pupil, please use the contact page to receive the lesson plan.
Taking part in assembly in collective worship and alms giving then please register your interest and together we can make it special for those who have dementia, their relatives and professional carers.
This important week in the church and school calendar offers a wide range of resources both to download and videos for group discussion in upper years.
Resource Simplicity by Deacon Kevin O'Connor for class and group discussion.
The Lesson Plan derived from the successfully piloted HeARTS and Minds sixth form volunteering programme. To ensure that you have these resources sent to you for 2020 academic year please fill in the contact form, and we will reply to you.
Thank you to the Teachers/Chaplains who have already committed to Dementia Prayer Week 12-19th March 2019 and will be incorporating resources for Lessons, Assembly Liturgy and School /Parish Mass.
They are delighted that the Catholic ethos of the Pastoral Care Project provides an understanding of dementia and spirituality which is why it has wide educational appeal.
This image of a Prayer Box created by Years 4, 5 and 6 when the Pastoral Care Project lead a HeARTs and Minds afternoon at Our Lady of the Wayside Primary School, Shirley in July 2016. Creating the box stimulated pupils thinking of what gave them purpose and meaning and how they could make a difference to someone with dementia by support the Pastoral Care Project outreach.
School Resoues
Many families including children are supporting a loved one who is elderly and frail, often with a form of dementia. It is for this reason that many schools invite us to give presentations and assemblies. They also use these resources in assembly and liturgy.
To obtain the 2019 New Lesson Plan and HeARTs and MindS Young Pastoral Companions please email your request to info@pastoralcareproject.org.uk or fill in the Contact form.
