The Pastoral Care Project - Fund raising ideas
Over the years people have held many fund raising events for the work of the Pastoral Care Project - we are ever grateful to them for all their efforts, hard work and donations.
New initiative for 2013 - Bake 'n' Share
As part of the National Week of Prayer & Awareness of Dementia we asked people to participate in a new initiative called Bake 'n' Share, as a way of fundraising for our work as well as being a way of bringing people together and reducing isolation. Many parishes, care homes, organisations and individuals embraced the idea by holding events and it is hoped that Bake 'n' Share will continue to grow during 2013 and beyond.

Fund raising Events - previous years
Many letters, phone calls and emails as well as donations were received in response to the Week of Prayer - all are very much appreciated and of great benefit to our work. Sometimes an unexpected donation and story reminds us of the far reaching effect a prayer or a prayer card can have on someone. As in the case of the following story from the proprietor of Sheldon's Hair and Beauty Studio, Nuneaton.
"We held a fundraising event for the Pastoral Care Project during the National Week of Prayer and Awareness of Dementia. Everyone knows someone who is affected by dementia. Our clients were treated to cup cakes baked for the occasion, by friends and neighbours – there was a real sense of community. Having such an event was an opportunity to talk about dementia in a sensitive way and we were so pleased to raise £50.00 for the Pastoral Care Project.”
