Reflection on Painting
by Karin Castle, Maranatha Community
STAY CLOSE TO ME - I do not want to be
alone -
I need your warmth next to my face.
Nothing feels clear, secure, familiar - WHERE AM I? -
I don't now this place!
STAY CLOSE TO ME - I CAN'T REMEMBER who you are,
can't catch the thoughts fast floating by -
like streamersblowing from the past -
I think and wonder WHO AM I?
STAY CLOSE TO ME - HELP ME, console me in this void,
can't tell the stranger from a friend or family -
don't want to see me - I AM A CHILD, please hold my hand.
STAY CLOSE TO ME - I AM AFRAID and I feel lost -
can't catch my breath -
I am whirling round from past to future dark to light -
there's movement but there is no sound.
Bewildered - in a turmoil of unidentified emotions -
moments of terror tearing through a troubled brain -
secretly searching for THE GENTLE HEALER,
the Comforter, the GOD IN CHRIST - who comes,
and in His coming restores His PEACE again.
